The story of Runeheim
An interdimensional village
Runeheim is the name of a small hamlet that floats in the space between worlds. It occasionally connects to different realms where the village materialises and then opens its doors. Nobody knows who the initial inhabitants of Runeheim are or why it has this travelling nature. These are simply truths of the world to those who live there.
Whenever it connects to a realm and opens its doors, people are free to come and go. With every visit Runeheim collects a few new inhabitants and sometimes some people leave. Long ago, elves, mages, guards, and other villagers entered Runeheim and made their home in Runeheim.
In Runeheim, blacksmiths, bakers, ceramic artists and other craftsmen form the markets with an abundance of materials and collections. In a beautiful grove at the center of a bog, the gates opened and all manner of witches, herbalists and wizards have joined this travelling village.
Runeheim is connected to a world of stories and songs, where musicians have gathered and brought beautiful music, poetry, stories and songs to the village. In the realm of Runeheim, all sorts of creatures joined. Knights, serfs, maidens, nobles, and peasants were all drawn through the gates, and many decided to stay.
Runeheim has no rulers; it recognizes no lord, lady, jarl, king, queen, coven, or other authority. Its inhabitants have found balance, and its guardians have found their purpose in controlling newcomers. Trade is the lifeblood of its occupants. Trading produce, food, drink, a wide variety of crafted products or specialty services. This community takes care of its own and it welcomes new wanderers.
And now the Norns have found a way to connect this interdimensional village with our realm between Beltane and Litha.
